SANCRC Priorities and strategic focus areas​

The overall goal of the coalition is a “Child-centered and rights-based national governance system that promotes, protects, and respects the rights of all children in South Africa, ensuring meaningful participation and compliance with regional and global child and human rights treaty obligations. 

Evidence Based Child Rights Advocacy

SANCRC’s strategic intend is to promote and protect children’s rights by employing evidence-based advocacy, policy analysis, and strategic engagements. This includes research and analysis to generate evidence on child rights issues; regularly reviewing of child rights laws and policies to identify gaps and areas for improvement; organizing national child rights conferences; publishing policy briefs with findings and recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders.

Institutional Strengthening & Sustainability

It is a strategic intent of SANCRC to build a strong and a sustainable child rights coalition that effectively promotes and protects children’s rights. The core of this SFA is institutional capacity building, including developing technical skills of staff, members and partners; supporting families as protective environments for children; empowering children to participate; securing sufficient resources for advocacy; and improving the coalition’s branding and visibility.
