Member Organisations And Activists

Our members are united in their shared vision of a South Africa where the rights of all children are realised and where no child bears the burden of poverty and inequality. Our members:

Include a broad base of organisations and individual advocates, activists, researchers and development practitioners
Are located across the country in all nine provinces, in rural, urban and peri-urban areas
Include NGOs, faith-based organisations, community based organisations, development institutes, policy think tanks, research institutes, as well as individuals who have committed to advancing the rights of children
Include children and child-led organisations.

Our Child-Led Organisations And Leaders

Children are central to the SANCRC. They are part of our leadership structure, our thematic working groups, and make up an important constituency of the coalition. Children have the right and a responsibility to participate in all decisions that affect them and be active and engaged agents of change or advocates of the changes that must take place to ensure realisation of their rights.

Children and youth have and demand the right to meaningful and routine participation in the national child rights governance system. The SANCRC aims to support the realisation of this right by including children in our leadership, governance and implementation structures.

Meet Our Young Leaders And Agents Of Change

The SANCRC voted in a new, democratically elected steering committee in November 2021. Our leadership is made up of a rich and diverse group of 11 dynamic leaders who bring a range of wisdom, youth, perspective, organisational representation, and experience.
