Leadership

Steering Committee

The coalition is currently led by a steering committee made up of 11 representatives drawn from our membership.  The role of the committee is to provide leadership, oversight and coordination of:

  • Organisational development and management
  • Strategic planning
  • Resource mobilisation and partner management
  • Coalition communications
  • Mobilising and growing coalition membership

The committee is supported by a small executive management team and secretariat providing the day-to-day management, communications, and logistical support to the coalition.

Save the Children South Africa currently acts as the secretariat, providing logistical, communication and financial management support.

Meet Our Leadership Team

The SANCRC voted in a new, democratically elected steering committee in November 2021. Our leadership is made up of a rich and diverse group of 11 dynamic leaders who bring a range of wisdom, youth, perspective, organisational representation, and experience.

Management

In addition to our Steering Committee, we have working group leads who provide leadership and support for our collective work in each of our thematic focus areas. Each thematic working group selects its own lead and co-lead who share responsibility for coordination of the development and implementation of the thematic strategic plan to contribute to the wider coalition objectives, goals, and vision. Meet our current thematic leads.

Financial And Partner Management

The SANCRC will mobilise resources to support the implementation of its strategic plan. Funding raised in support of the coalition’s strategic plan will be used to further the coalition goals and objectives implemented through activities organised under the relevant thematic areas.

All funding agreements and the management of the resources and partner relationships and reporting requirements will be managed through two member organisations – Save the Children South Africa and Give a Child a Family. They are founding members, are part of the executive management team and are well-established with robust financial management processes and institutional arrangements in place to guarantee ethical, efficient and effective use of resources. Currently two member organisations provide the financial management. They, both of which are long-standing registered organisations with robust and transparent financial management systems in place.
